Zinc Wire

Zinc Wire is mostly used where all area is not readily accessible like small, uncoated areas and voids which are better protected by zinc then aluminum. Zinc wire is recommended for use in pH range 6 to 12 and this coating is much more resistant to hard water than soft water. Zinc coating has poor resistance to almost all organic and inorganic acids and also has poor resistance in any water type above 60°c. Zinc is recommended as a primer on surfaces, to form electrically conductive surfaces on glass and ceramics or will be painted.

Typical Uses and Applications

  • Atmospheric and immersion corrosion protection on large steel or iron structures such as bridges, roadway barriers, posts and poles, offshore structures, and marine structures.
  • Atmospheric corrosion strength on steel or iron elements such as tanks and gas bottles.
  • EMI and RF shielding on plastic elements (electric arc spray only).
